Inaugural Summit
The forthcoming Inaugural Summit organized by the Greater Orlando-Black Child Development Institute (GO-BDCI) will stand as a pivotal moment in their mission to enhance early childhood education and empower the local African American community. This anticipated event aims to unite educators, parents, community leaders, and advocates, all driven by a shared goal of improving educational outcomes for young Black children in Orlando.
During the summit, participants will engage in dynamic discussions, workshops, and presentations that will underscore the significance of early education and address the distinctive challenges faced by the African American community. Esteemed speakers and experts in education, child development, and community engagement will share their insights, aiming to inspire attendees to play active roles in shaping the educational experiences of young Black children.
Virtual Learning Series
Join the National Black Child Development Institute (NBCDI) Thursday, September 28th at 12pm ET for a thought-provoking discussion to explore the impact of the Florida educational laws on Black children, their families, and educators. We will examine both the challenges and the opportunities that lie ahead. These laws curb learning trajectories by stifling creativity and empathy in children.
When Black children see relatable characters and stories that mirror their identity, it boosts their self-esteem, empathy, and cultural understanding. NBCDI Florida Villages unite to foster awareness, inspire meaningful dialogue, and encourage action toward creating an equitable education environment for all children.
This Virtual Learning Series will feature our work in Florida around book banning/challenges/removal. Be a part of this important conversation. Register today:
